Every so often I will move the cursor and the open program windows will be spread separately on the screen.  I can click any one of them to maximize that program on the screen.

I cannot figure out what causes that to happen.  Each time I try to replicate that action, I am unable to do it.  Does anyone know how that is done?

Confg desktop -> window behavior -> screen edges. If I understand your post correctly.

If genomega's tip doesn't cure it, another thing to try could be:

Configure Your Desktop >> Workspace Appearance & Behaviour  >> Desktop Effects >> All Effects >

and untick the  "Present Windows" option (note - remember to press Apply)

If you can keep you head while all around you are losing theirs, then you have misunderstood the situation.

Thank you.  That did it. I now know how to tile the windows.
