I've been planning an install to my sister's Samsung NC10 as there is an excellent how to for small issues by davecs here:    http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,69132.0.html
Meanwhile I noticed on some netbook forums that members were discussing a new BIOS version out 11CA. "It seems that someone over on the SammyNetbook forum noticed that backlight control with KMS is now working (or at least somewhat) and with suspend and resume."  Apparently there are reports of the backlight controls working out of the box with this new BIOS version.  Anyway I intend on checking what BIOS version is on the machine before install.

Hi omskates - be careful when (if)  you do the Bios update my friend! Make sure you are not doing anything over wireless/bluetooth and that you have a fully charged battery.

If you can keep you head while all around you are losing theirs, then you have misunderstood the situation.
