So I am trying to install Phoenix on an Hp Visualize X Class Workstation. Problem is it doesn't boot the live cd.
I have tried copy2ram but it failed.

System specs:

2 - P3 Processors
3 GB RAM
Video Card is a 64 mb NVIDIA ( Don't remember model)

I boot the Live Cd With no graphics so I can see where it hangs...
SQUASHFS error: Unable to read data cache entry [2656776]
SQUASHFS error: Unable to read page, blockk 2656776, size e9ca
Bus error
ata2:lost interrupt (Status 0x58)

Then the error:
Buffer I/O error on device sr0, logical block 332984

Then repeats itself.

Can anyone help me figure this out? I really wanna see what Phoeix can do with 3 gb ram and two P3 processors....

How old in the cdrom drive in the computer because the drive is having problems reading the contents of the livecd.

I always use the "Check media" option on LiveCD boot menu.

That gives me integrated check of md5sum and the drive+CD.

It had an older cd rom drive in it. Switched it to a more modern HP CD drive still having the same problem.

The only success I have had is wih OpenSuse. Because after you install Opensuse it reboots and the configures itself. So I took and installed Opensuse on a harddrive on another computer then took the drive out and put it in the Visualize. Is there a way to possibly do that with Phoenix?

Should be able too.  You might have to tweak some drivers though after you boot into it.

I just tried but it hangs with this error at boot:

waiting for sda1 to appear (timeout 1min)
waiting for sda5 to appear (timeout 1min)

Then I get a kernel panic

If I had to guess, which is about it, I'd say check your fstab.  Make sure the uuid is correct or delete the entry if it does not apply to the new computer.  Just guessing though.

I've just now got time to start playing with this computer again....

Explain what you mean by deleting the uuid.... How would I go about this?

And I have played around a little with it and it turns out that if the cd is just an install cd it will work.
I tried it when a friend told me about foresight linux which is just an install cd not a live cd.
Is there a way to get to the installer of PCLinuxOS without actually going into livecd mode?
