I think I know the answer, but just to be sure, the only way to get PCLOS 2010 KDE without games and other is to start with MiniMe. Correct?

Trying to remove just about any game wants to take task-kde with it.

I'm going to be doing a clean install in the next few days. I have installed and removed so many programs in my first year, I'm ready to start with just my favorites, no Gnome Desktop installed, etc.

I'll have two backups of home. /One in a separate partition and another on an external drive. I am not going to try to bring /home back I am going to build up from a clean system. I have just been trying to decide between MiniMe or 2010.07 KDE but I'm leaning towards MiniMe as I look at how many games are installed, etc.

I have MiniMe Live on a 4GB USB stick. Any drawbacks to installing from that? I'm out of CD's and feel dumb putting MiniMe on a DVD.

yep.  minime is the way to go.  i am not familiar with the current one as i have installed the regular kde .iso.  you may find that a couple of games have been installed.  they will probably be the sort that come in filesizes measured in kilobytes, taking  up so little space that even minime doesn't notice they're there.

task-kde is just a meta package to assist in installing kde. Removing task-kde does not remove any files from your computer.
