In normal konsole lspci |grep Network <enter> No you were not careful enough it is capital N, You do nothing in Root Konsole yet (su <enter> Password). I don't understand what you are doing there Do you know how to copy and paste with the mouse? Drag mouse over text to highlight selection. Then Copy (to clipboard) after which you go to another place like konsole where you can paste selected into the command line?

That does not sound promising. I am going for my looong Echo time getting closer to midnight here, be another 10 hours before I come back on again. You still have your LiveCD for emergency running I assume, it is not the same but it will work. Good luck

You will not get a sudo error unless you've used sudo in the command. Don't do that! We do not now, nor do we ever intend to, use sudo as a blanket means to grant root permissions. We use su or su- for that purpose. You were asked to enter a specific command as a normal user, and if you had done as instructed, there would not have been a sudo error message.

@ old-polack... I have made that mistake yes, but done it to without sudo , i remember that it was not correct. When You try something or do something there can be errors, otherwise i sould be a living human i think. And whats more, when i did the command without sudo, i have the same results. Sorry for my error.... Pencil1

On my computer I get this result, but this will be very different on yours [root@localhost ~]$ lspci |grep Network 05:02.0 Network controller: RaLink RT2561/RT61 rev B 802.11g [root@localhost ~]$ First that will not work for USB devices ....... So one would use lsusb as the command. BUT .... lsusb does not report "Network" so that command will also fail to give an output. So I suggest this command may be what is required lsusb | grep Belkin ..... where Belkin in the manufacturer of the device A result such as this should then show lsusb | grep Belkin Bus 001 Device 014: ID 050d:705a Belkin Components F5D7050A Wireless Adapter regards.

Just19 Thank you, of course . I have better get one of those sticks to avoid this mistake again. Pencil1I was dreaming last night not picking this up, again and again I was reading you were using USB Sticks and I was only really worrying why my own wifi was working funny. I am going from bad to worse. It would be very nice if this is taking care of the sudo problem.
