my first post  Smiley

I'm trying to install PCLinuxOS to a Dell Optiplex 755, with no joy,

it always fails after finding the usb when it's looking for the loop

Searching for the loop image:
      /dev/sda1
      /dev/sda2
      /dev/sda3
      /dev/sda5
      /dev/sda6

I've tried the following

DVD
USB
UNetboootin

all with the same results it acts like it's not seeing the HD yet it's copying from it..

system specs

Intel E4400 duo
4G PC1066
DVDRW Sata
500G Sata

this is a mini box system that doesn't allow you to change or move around drive jumpers, so any help I'd appreciate

thanks so much

Indian..

Hard to guess what's going on here, but when I had a similar problem I solved it by copying the CD contents to a USB stick and then booting and installing from the CD while the USB was still plugged in.

The system then booted the CD and ran the image from the USB; it was able to install from this configuration with no further problems.

If there's space, try copying the livecd.sqfs file to one of the existing partitions. After installing you can delete it again.

Is this the latest 2010.7? I know some versions of 2009 had this problem, especially when remastered after upgrades.
