I would like to use photographs from various sources as my wallpaper, i.e., desktop background.  In Gnome, this is relatively easy.  I cannot, so far, see how to do this with the PCLOS 2010 KDE release.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Right click on your desktop, select the option that says 'Configure Folder View', and then browse your computer for the wallpaper you want to add.

Adding a little bit to this:

If you click and drag an image from the file manager to the desktop, it opens a dialog where you can select "use as desktop wallpaper". It's an option to right clicking. (And one of the things I miss from KDE 3.x: the ability to right click on the image to use it as wallpaper.)

Also, don't forget that you can use a slide show as wallpaper, and have the image change at the interval you want.

Cheers!

Wow, what an excellent tip! And here I was disliking how hard it was to set wallpaper from the filemanager.
