I was exploring Compiz Config when all of a sudden all the windows I had open were missing the window control bar. Every window is locked in place and size. I cannot resize minimize maximize or move windows.
I can only Close a window thru its File Menu.

I cannot find anything that will undo whatever I did to get myself in this mess.
Any ideas on how I can get back to Kansas? I don't really understand 3/4's of the stuff in Compiz or grasp any ryhme or reason to the way it behaves on my machine 1/2 the time.

To reset Compiz defaults open a terminal console and type:
Code:
gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /apps/compiz
Then logout and back in.

Thank you. That was a quick response.  Smiley But I found Reset CompizConfig Profile To Global Defaults and that did the trick. Phew!
Compiz seems awfully complex even from my simple users perspective. I think I'll leave it pretty much alone for now.  Grin

I'll cut and paste that CLI command into my notes.

Again thanx alot.
