I just did a fresh install of 2010.07 on my desktop. I have done dozens of these in the past but this time after seeing the grub menu and choosing linux all I get is a black screen with "kernel (hd0,4)/boot/vmlinuz BOOT_IMAGE=failsafe root=UUID=38e92a38-ccd7-4d44-ab9d-89bcbb6ea12b failsafe vmalloc=256M
       [Linux-bzImage, setup=0x3a00, size=0x1f3110]
initrd (hd0,4)/boot/initrd.img

The only thing that I can remember doing differently is on my prior install i had added the PAE kernel to make use of 8 gigs of ram. after adding PAE my desktop worked fine and made use of its ram.

I thought the download may have been corrupt also, md5 checked good, then i tried 2010.1 just to see if i could get it working again, still no luck.
