Hi to all,
I do have a problem machine.
I can boot 2010.1 CD and it work fine, sets up the graphics server so I get the correct size display.
I  then do an install. All is fine. the install goes well as well as first boot.
Now I have done memory tests with memtest 4.0 and a clean bill of health.
I have run gsmartcontol? over the disk and no problems, i have also run testdisk, again no problems found.
OK back to where i was.
If I reboot now, all ok.
BUT if I do the smallest update,, like get new package list, mark all updates then doit, on rebooting  I get a "busybox" type of screen. There are messages on this display that say it cannot find the files to setup the system!
There are no icons on the screen and the "busybox" screen is in the top left corner of the screen.
I have done this with IDE drives and SATA drives, I have changed the video card I have checked the CD
I  have changed the DVD devise from IDE to SATA, I have changed cables.
It still behaves the same...OK on first boot after installation then after an update....nothing usable.
The system is an AMD 64FX53 2GB ram and ATI video.
Every thing checks out as working well, but does not.
Your help is needed,
Many thanks , in advance.

Download and install the latest iso using ext4 default format. It is fully updated as of yesterday.
