I don't do Windows

« on: June 18, 2010, 08:01:59 PM »

EDIT: Desktop is LXDE 2010, kernel version is 2.6.33.5-pclos1.pae #1 SMP. The UPS is connected to the PC via a USB cable. Tried to set it up in PCC > Hardware > Set up a UPS. The GUI error message is:

Quote
Write support for user is incomplete. It lacks some support for some extra fields that would be lost else

The errors reported by drakconf are attached as error.txt. The contents of /etc/ups/ups.conf are attached as ups.conf.txt. I checked the CD that came with the unit, and there is a Linux setup included. Ran the included setup.sh as root. Instructions say to run pwrstat -status to check results. The instructions don't say, but permissions only allow running pwrstat as root. The daemon is now running. File permissions are:

-rwx------ 1 root root 24209 2010-06-18 20:16 /usr/sbin/pwrstat*
-rwx------ 1 root root 71469 2010-06-18 20:16 /usr/sbin/pwrstatd*

Running pwrstat shows:

Current UPS status:

   State ....................... Normal
Power Supply by ............. Utility Power
   Utility Voltage ............. 120 V
   Load ........................ 0 %
   Remaining Runtime ........... 94 min.
   Battery Capacity ............ 100 %

Are the PCC errors I'm seeing normal? I can't tell what should be inserted in the "driver=" field in ups.conf file.
