PCLinux is the best OS I've tested to date.  It's beautiful, and responsive, everything I need is available, and most is already included in the installation.  My internet connections were found immediately - both the Satellite and WiFi, I only had to enter my code for the WiFi to connect.  It also installs very quickly - taking about 10 minutes or so.  I installed it on my Lenovo laptop and was pleasantly surprised at how well it runs.  (1.5GHz core 2 duo, 4GB Corsair DDR2, 250GB WD hard drive.)   I had tried using Zen Mini and for some reason had to endure a squeal and fuzzy-sounding feedback if my hand or fingers got near the touch-pad - so I tried PCLinux and it works great - no feedback.  There are only a couple of things that I had a little problem with however: the sign-in settings are a little bit confusing, it wound up displaying my name 3 times and all the passwords, the screensaver won't stay on, (it shows an error message that it is not on and would I like to set it now...) you have to do this every time you restart the computer.  I was able to correct the Log in problem with a download of Autologin using Synaptic though and now it just goes straight to the desktop. These are, in reality, small issues that will most likely be ironed out in time, but I thought I would mention them.  This is an exceptional OS - the laptop came with XP Pro installed, and the PCLinux installation beats XP in all ways, especially speed and ease of installation.  It is completely stable and I am recommending it to all my friends and those who depend on me when it comes to computers.  Thanks guys, keep up the good work  Cool

There is a small script in ~/.kde4/Autostart  which could be removed and this should allow the screensaver to work OK.

Thanks for the reply johnBoy - I realized there was another way to correct the log in and used it, but had forgotten to activate it.  It boots directly into the desktop now..  Anyone figure out how to get the screensaver to stay on?  Smiley Roll Eyes

I "echo" (pun intended  Tongue) what the OP stated. I love this distro ! I am amazed at how much I am loving PCLinuxOS and Linux in general. I just discovered Midnight Commander. Wow, I am finding my time using Windows is decreasing exponentially over time.

You'll be better of starting a new thread for this as you'll get more responses that way.

Did removing the file not work?
