problem with photosmart m447 and digikam(REOPENED)

i haven't used my camera since february, i just connected it to the pc and it never showed as usb mass storage device(i use it this way)
in the screen of the camera, after a couple of seconds a message can be seen saying that it couldn't communicate with the printer!
the camera only has two usb modes, ptp and usb mass storage device, not a printer mode(maybe ptp is the same?)
when i do lsusb this is what i see(when set as usb mass storage device)
[j@localhost ~]$ lsusb
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0458:0063 KYE Systems Corp. (Mouse Systems)
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 004 Device 002: ID 046d:c216 Logitech, Inc. Dual Action Gamepad
Bus 004 Device 008: ID 03f0:4002 Hewlett-Packard PhotoSmart 720 / PhotoSmart 935 (storage)
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 005 Device 002: ID 03f0:0a01 Hewlett-Packard ScanJet 2400c
Bus 005 Device 003: ID 0458:003a KYE Systems Corp. (Mouse Systems)
the weird thing is that when i set the camera to work as a ptp device digikam works with it perfectly!
when i do lsusb with the camera set to work as ptp this is what it shows
[j@localhost ~]$ lsusb
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0458:0063 KYE Systems Corp. (Mouse Systems)
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 004 Device 002: ID 046d:c216 Logitech, Inc. Dual Action Gamepad
Bus 004 Device 015: ID 03f0:9c02 Hewlett-Packard PhotoSmart M440 series
Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 005 Device 002: ID 03f0:0a01 Hewlett-Packard ScanJet 2400c
Bus 005 Device 003: ID 0458:003a KYE Systems Corp. (Mouse Systems)
the system sees the difference perfectly and detects it well
after playing around setting it again to work as usb mass storage device, with the message in the screen of the camera i discovered that it says that it can retry to connect to the printer
when i do this device notifier shows the camera and give only one option, open with digikam, the exact message that is showed when is set as ptp
in digikam i can't find a option make it ignore the camera and let it work as what i wanted to be
can someone give me some steps to make it work as a usb mass storage device and avoid digikam?
i have very little experience with digikam and i believe it is the problem but i could be wrong
any help is welcome
