Hi All,

Decided that xfce might be the way to go since my hardware is a bit older, and kde just seems to bog it down some, but using compiz really helps my work flow so I don't want to give that functionality up either. So I have installed xfce, and I thought set up compiz, but even after a reboot none of the effect are working. I've always used kde so I may just be unaware of something I need to activate or check but I cannot find out what that might be. and forum search did not turn up any useful information.

Anyone have an idea what I might be missing?

Thanks

Haven't tried it.  Seems like it should work ok, I don't know of any reason why it wouldn't.

I did install task-xfce, yes. This is on a original kde install, was hoping just switch to using xfce as it's a little snappier, ok a lot, but I still wanted the compiz functionality as well.

installing Phoenix means that you dont get the KDE bloat ... and you get the xfce speed accompanied by a fully working Compiz-Fusion

Kori

Unfortunately, I think because of some changes in the kernel or something, my IDE optical drive is not recognized by the current PCLOS version, with the help of Old Polack, I had to spend about eight hours total just to get the new version installed-- is there anything can install or am I just out of luck on this one??
