Gamma correction with VESA driver in X
«

Hi All,
I have been playing with pclos 2010. Initially the xorg.conf was using the vesa driver for video.
I tried setting the gamma option in the monitor section and no matter what i set it to nothing changes. If I switch to the intel driver, the gamma works properly, but it crashes all the time.
Anyway, I guess I can solve this one of two ways:
1) make the gamma setting work with the vesa driver
2) make the intel driver quit crashing
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks
Matt

Did you get the intel driver using synaptic? What is the video card you are using?

Yes I got the driver using synaptic
Its an Intel Corporation 82845G/GL[Brookdale-G]/GE Chipset Integrated Graphics Device (rev 01)
I have learned that the vesa driver isnt an option if i want a gamma setting. So if you can let me know how to make the intel driver more stable Id appreciate it
Thanx
Matt

Um no not on this particular distribution I can't really tell you how to do that. My dad has the same chip set and the only distro I found that works with it is Mandriva for what ever the reason is. Sorry I couldn't help you further with this one.
