Printer setup - Solved

I have Zen mini 2010 installed on a Lenovo Laptop - core2 duo Intel with 4GB of Corsair ram.  It runs fine, but I am unable to install any printer.  I have tried 2 HP printers - and 1 Cannon printer. I downloaded PrinterDrake and it installed, the printer icon appeared in Control Center.  When I click on default printer - I see a small blank window with no printer selection showing.  I even tried using the Epson icon and clicking on Other Printer - but nothings happens; no  printer is found.  I have 2 other computers running Linux and the printer was detected immediately on startup.  Is there another way to install a printer?    Thanks.
