I am running the latest version of PCLinuxOS, KDE version, and am very pleased with it. Everything works except for one thing - I cannot record sound using Audacity or sound recorder. Sound plays perfectly.  I have also tried to use pulseaudio, but the daemon will not load, although I can send sound to another computer that has pulseaudio running.  I don't think the problem is hardware as I have had this working before when I used Mandriva. Any help appreciated

When I use Audacity, I have to change the host in Preferences from OSS to ALSA. Then I can record.

Hello Linuzoid.

Yes, Audacity does seem to default to OSS, but I have already changed it to ALSA but still cannot record.
