this is for KDE4  if you have skype in your panel right click it and go to icon settings then click on the tab Application..go to the box Command and remove skype and paste this in there

Code:
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype

click ok then restart skype and your old cams should work..

edit: this is not a fix for the quickcam chat..

edit: this will remove the skype icon ..just right click the question mark in panel --icon settings---click on the ? mark and search for skype icon in other ..click it and then OK

Hi, i was happy Cheesy to find your post, because i have a Creative WebCamGoPlus that works fine using Skype in Windows but with Linux can't get to start, stalled. I just used your instructions and tried but Skype stalled again when i make the Test in Options.
Do you know what can i try to fix it?

Creative have not created drivers for Linux. I have been in touch with them.

Yup - me too.

I have an Live Voice (or mebbe that should be "dead-silent" voice) and havn't been able to get it to work.

You could have a look here and see if anything their can help.

Thanks for the link menotu. My Creative Live! CAM Vista IM VF0260 is listed but I'm none the wiser.
