I've been through the many tips regarding sound issues, but have not resolved mine. At login, my S/PDIF is selected, I'm using analog speakers, so this results in no sound. I have run alsaconfig as root, and also alsactl store. Now, I can run alsactl restore as root and everything works fine, is there a way I can run this command at boot time so I don't have to run it manually every time?

You need to run alsamixer as your user and then run 'alsactl store' as root.  That should take care of it.

If you really want to run the 'alsactl restore' command at boot, try adding it to /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit

Thanks, I did end up adding alsactl restore, I just felt that it's a band-aid and not a real solution. I know PCLinuxOS is not the only distro with this problem, they all seem to.
