SOLVED - ending message in Kmail
«
on:

Thanks for any help.
I tried to send a message in Kmail.
Kmail put it in the outbox and stated that my authentication was set incorrectly.
I didn't knowingly set any authentication.
It also has something to do with ACL(access contact lists).
Problem is how to fix it.

shankle,
More information probably needed. When you set up Kmail, did you set up your isp's mail properly? Incoming and outgoing... authentication, password, etc? If so, had you sent an email successfully before? Addressbook now uses Akonadi in it's database for contacts; did you set it up?

You may of forgotten to put in an email address in the Identities field
Settings > Configure KMail > Identities >> and use the Add or Modify button and then select the General Tab and put an email address in there.
Its not how other email apps do it, but without that KMail just won't play ball
If its not that another thing is to setup your
smtp
address for sending your email

I went from the "authentication" error message to the "not our customer"
error message.
Finally found the authentication box to uncheck.
Thanks for the help.
