Skype and GSPCA webcams(Solved)

Hello,
           I seem to have lost the gui option to start skype from the internet section on my desktop.It was there when I started, but now it has gone.I tried re-installing it and then totally remove and reinstall, but still no success.Any ideas on how to get it back? ;My signature says it all.
I noticed when starting from the console scrolling error messages when the camera starts operating.

I know you are a experienced user and so should not suggest anything to you,but simultaneously am curious.....
Can't you add entry for skype in the menu with the help of menu editor? i.e. in menu editor by right clicking the 'internet' heading and selecting 'new item' & giving details of skype?

Regarding scrolling errors......I don't get them & this I have mentioned especially for you at the end of my Reply#6 above .

Have you loaded the correct driver for this device to use?

The correct driver for it is
gspca-zc3xx

Try as root

modprobe  gspca-zc3xx

gspca is drivers built-in to the kernel, there will not be a package. If you open a terminal, type 'locate gspca', you should get results for every kernel you have installed.

You have to be logged in as root to 'modprobe gspca-zc3xx'. Otherwise, nothing will happen.

          No one knows everything and I don't know which is the more accurate in my case.
1 .I am forgetting more than I am learning, or 2. I am learning more than I can remember.
Either way assistance given by people on the forum is something we all benefit from.
Your suggestion was most useful and welcome.It is such help that makes PCLinuxOS shine compared to other distributions.
Could you post a window capture of the settings that should be present for Skype please?
Also,I mentioned the scrolling error but should point out that the video still works.

Hello,
      I have managed to get Skype returned to the menu list after a few issues.It does work now.
I did notice when run from the console it shows an error.I assume it will not matter as I don't see it when I use the gui.

OK, finally had some time to go over all this, it works that way I found out, thanks!
I also had to change the command in menu settings as suggested in this thread and voila! All fine on board(s).
I do still wonder as to why some laptops don't need this tweak but alas, not going to break my head over that.
Edit: Nagh, laptop webcam=other (USB?) webcam (Sometimes I must sleep)
