I am delighted to see PCLinuxOS 2010 is starting to gain such positive reviews. However, I am in a bind because I still use KDE 3.5.10 and I know that one of my KDE 3 'must-have' apps, Quanta Plus, will not be available on the KDE 4.4 release as it has not been ported by the KDE team. Will it be possible to install this app (preferably from the repo ...) if I choose to upgrade to the LXDE or the XFCE edition of PCLOS 2010? Thanks in anticipation for any feedback.

Hello.

I have not tried that app, but if you do install it.  It should pull in any required packages with it.

i'm another quanta+ fan - hope it's not lost forever.

and on that note: is it possible to install things like quanta+ or smc (super maryo chronicles - for my son's computer) from 2009 repos?  or is that just a bad idea?

man - hat's off guys, on making pclos lxde 2010 REALLY nice! great job! thank you.

You should not install from 2009 repos to 2010. If it doesn't break your system, it isn't likely to run.

You can post a request that it be added to the 2010 repos in the Package Suggest area. Be sure to read and follow the rules posted in the section.
