I just installed minime 2010 and configured everything I could figure out last night after updating all upgradeable pkgs. My monitor is a samsung 2343 with 2048x1152 resolution. The 2048x1152 resolution was in the list to choose from. I also chose to save session. After reboot, resolution defaults to 1920x1080 and several other config settings were gone. Also could not find how to save the session after choosing it in session manager. I don't remember all lost changes. My 1st guess is that I'm missing a needed package but know which one after searching. This is my 1st time to really try  KDE4.
Thanks for any info...

I've noticed the nvidia settings don't stick, and manual reset by control-alt-backspace does nothing,
there is no application menu right-click-copy-icon-to-panel, no option for 100% panel transparency,
no way to place panel icons as desired...looks like lots of googling ahead for me!   Wink

Yeah I noticed the lack of transparency, etc...but figured that was just another new feature of kde4 Smiley I know kde4 is not as mature as kde3.5 but I'm trying to give it a chance this time. I have to admit that the PCLOS developers have done the best job I've seen in making it as easy to use as kde3.5.

Correction to original post: I don't know what package might be missing if that is the problem. My other thought was to  try PCLOS2010 and see if it has the same problem but I don't have time right now.

Solved screen resolution...I think. The control center identified my monitor as a plug-n-play syncmaster with 1920x1080 resolution. I manually updated  through the vendor selection. I also chose to go with the xorg radeonhd driver instead of the proprietary ATI one. Still 2048x1152 after one reboot in a row now...

Still working on saving the session. After choosing restore manually saved session, I dont see where to save the session. It isn't where it was in kde 3.x. Back to googling...
