Hi
PCLinuxOS 2010 in live mode with my Asus EeePc 901.
I install eee-control and now I have a little icon with Eee in the taskbar.
I clic over it but..."error when communicating with eee-control-daemon. Make shre it is running"
How can I activate my eeecontrol to use the special keys?
Thanks
Jose

Open PCC/System/System services, locate eee, click start. If it doesn't start you must reboot. But since you're in live mode, which is for one session only, you won't be able to check, if everything is ok.

Edit: FYI I'm using it on my 900 and it's working like a charm.

Hey Jose,
I am running PClinuxOS 2010.1 KDE on my Asus 1001p netbook.  I installed the eee-control program but I get the same message you do.  I think there are a couple of files needed with that program that isn't in the repository yet.  I guess we'll have to wait until they get them ported over.  In the mean time I'm trying to get Hotkeys or Keytouch to work for it.  If I have success, I'll be glad to share my results.

I had the same problem with my eee 701 so I went into the system services and stopped eee-control and disabled startup at boot. Then I rebooted and went back into system services and enabled startup at boot. I then rebooted again and eee-control is working ok now. Don't know why but it worked for me.
