i downloaded some themes and icon themes for e17... but they were in .tar.gz extensions...
how to make them work???
1- for example the theme very black by agust... when i extract it it gives 2 folders(gtk-2& metacity) and a file(index.theme)
2- the icon theme came also in .tar.gz... when extracted it gets also 2 folders...
i know i can pic one icon a time but what if i want to use the whole icon theme??
there was a read me file saying the following:

-add a "Main Menu" to your panel
 -run gconf-editor
 -navigate to /app/panel/objects
 -find a object_x with the "object_type=menu-object".
 - tick up "use_custom_icon"
 -type in "custom_icon" start-here1, start-here2, ... , start-here11
 - if you doesn't like any of this icons you can browse here to an image of your choice

how to do that??how to add main menu? when i tried the command gconf-editor i got an error message in konsole!!
thx guys

Hi drhadidy , install from Synaptic "LXAppearance" , from there you can change gtk themes, Icons and Fonts.
I will install as follows.
Download file > Open Console as Root > Type Thunar > Select file and the extract option in usr/share/themes or Icons usr/share/icons.
Then from LXAppearance, you can select the themes or icons that you have. Wink
Nodoka themes in Synaptic is very good.
