Tried the 2010 MiniMe just to see what would happen on this older box (1.4GHz AMD 566 mb ram onboard graphics ) and Whoa Nelly! it  seems to run just fine after making sure no composting or compiz stuff was trying to run (This all running "Live"). Not to sure if I like the Plasma stuff but it's not too bad looking and will want to try the "classic" style before deciding. But on to my biggest peeve so far (and it's not too huge) and it's what used to be called "Tooltips" in KDE3 , you know the little window that pops up over the icons, How pray tell do you turn those off? (I hate those things) Ran through this http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,64519.msg522402.html#msg522402 but didn't see any mention of it. I didn't figure there would be a KDE MiniMe or that I'd be able to run it (so far), so I'm more than a little happy right now. Very nice job to all involved !!
-------

Well I do kinda of like 2010 MiniMe, But it is too much for my system as a "Live" cd , it just get slower and slower till it stops, Oh well (566mb of ram aint as big as it used to be i guess). Still might try it as a install to see how that goes (should do much better) and I like the "Classic" view better after all. But hey! I still gots me a perfectly good 2009 MiniMe that I'm still more than happy with Grin

(would still like to know how to kill those "tooltip" popups in 2010 though Wink)

You can disable the tooltips by right-clicking on an empty area of the task bar and then disabling “show tooltips” in the task manager settings dialog.

or

right click the taskbar and look for the option "smooth task settings"  then "appearance" and voila

Hay there alexjamestodd
Thanks , found the setting "right click the taskbar and look for the option "smooth task settings"  then "appearance" and voila" and set to "none", and voila! nothing changed, still have those very annoying tooltips pop ups , tried in both "desktop" and "File View" setting (using the third incarnation of the MiniME 2010 as I type) it is what it is I suppose, and that is...... and thy name be KDE4 Cheesy
