« Reply #105 on: April 02, 2010, 05:49:38 AM »

Had a major crash after last update.  E-17 would not come up. At splash screen get a seg fault error.  It was working well until the update.
so something in the update broke.  will reinstall and try it again later.

I've been updating my remastering install continously with no problems.  Smiley

(Secret:  Don't pick and choose updates)

P.S.  I also use gimp.  No problems here except I've lost one panel somewhere.  Sheesh, where did I put it?

I've updated on a daily basis with no real problems and E17 has only crashed once not bad at all.
I installed Lxappearance for GTK themes and icons as I was having problems so that cured that now I can change GTK themes and icons easier.

Hi, I was unable to get on the net from the E17 live cd, because the included gnome-ppp has unmet dependencies, it requires wvdial, and a couple of wvdial tools. Wvdial may be old, but its great to get online in a pinch, or with tiny overheads, and works in almost any distro. I hope you will include it in the final release.
Cheers

Will be continue working with openbox beta. It also pretty good (needed just install task-enlightenment and liferea))! It must not have crashes, I think... If it was stay in mirrors as single iso.

I've got many packages from different versions, deleted one by one (except one) since the utility for that didn't work.  Working OK for now and hoping the RC soon  Grin

There was found (by landgraf) temporary resolution for trouble of updates:
Boot from Livecd, make chroot in your broken system and then
cat /etc/inittab.rpmsave > /etc/inittab
