I installed Camorama from Synaptic for using a webcam and my system doesn't seem to like it.It comes with the 'system not responding'tab and freezes.
Having tried twice with the same results I uninstalled it.Is there some kind of alternative that could work?

Cheese works for me.
It's a GTK / GNOME app, but it does a fairly decent job.

Did you check if the system is detecting your cam at all?

Does anybody have further clues as to how I can get my Conceptronic webcam running? It works fine in LXDE and Gnome with Jasper and dkms-uvcvideo installed   but dkms-uvcvideo doesn't feature in the 2010-beta 1 repository.
Both Cheese and Camorama detect the presence of the webcam but I cant seem to get any video.

Thanks for any suggestions.
