I had some fun getting my usb dtv stick working, If  I first booted windows, then restarted into pclos all worked ok,but a cold start into pclos failed to start the device.
While shutting down I removed and reconnected the device. This halted the shutdown and a message identified the missing firmware file "dvb-usb-dib0700-1.10.fw "google found the file at a place that made no reference to compro.
Copied the file into lib/firmware ,restarted and manually entered the channel table as per kaffeine instructions .
It all works very well and I am happy to recommend this unit for anyone wanting digital tv with epg, hd, time shifting, network broadcasting and multiple channel recording (from the same transponder)all on pclos. USB 2.0 required

I cant help wondering if there was an easier way to identify the missing .fw file

Can you email me the dvb-usb-dib0700-1.10.fw file so I can put it on the CD?

Sent as requested. pclos2010 is looking good. Smiley

Typing dmesg in a terminal after plugging the device in is the "easier" way to get the message that identifies the .fw file for this device.

Also ,dmesg identifies the device as "videomate u500"
