How to embed an image into a forum post
«Based on post from Texstar on: August 09, 2009, 04:15:52 AM »

Go to http://tinypic.com/

..Note that you do NOT need an account to upload a picture!

Upload your image.

Copy and paste the code that says : IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards
Code:
[IMG]http://i25.tinypic.com/2cgymgy.jpg[/img]

..it will show up like this:

More options:

Set image width in the opening IMG tag:

Code:
[IMG width=300]http://i25.tinypic.com/2cgymgy.jpg[/img]

..looks like this:

BEST OPTION:
Set image width in IMG tag and enclose with a link to full size image:

Code:
[url=http://i25.tinypic.com/2cgymgy.jpg]
[IMG width=300]http://i25.tinypic.com/2cgymgy.jpg[/img]
[/url]

..looks like this:

...if you want to be really nice to those with limited bandwidth, you could even use a thumbnail image in the IMG tags, and then link to a larger image as suggested later in this thread!

Andy

P.S. One day I will make a video about it and post it here... Not today not tomorrow... Some day...

Tinypic is no longer accepting registrations for user accounts.  They are encouraging users to register with Photobucket.  But last I knew, photobucket links were banned here.

Just a FYI, you don't need an account to link to an image uploaded to tinypic.

Hi OrdiDoc,

First thing that came to mind was it could be due the forum being spambotted the other day and mebbe the account privileges are being (re)set etc.

Mind you  Wink it could be something completely different.

I don't know. You would need to contact weric at linfx. I removed one of your wallpaper posts you made here earlier today as not being appropriate.

Wow, I can't believe they let you upload pictures without an account.  But you are right.  It works.
