Hey everyone. I'm installing PCLinuxOS on a HP dv6636rn. Fully updated w/ KDE4 & 2.6.27.31.tex5 kernel. The built-in webcam shows as 'HP Webcam' in hardware, but I can't get it to show any video using xcam. Haven't tried any other software and this is my first install with a built-in webcam. Any suggestions to get this working?

Open PCC/Hardware/Browse and configure hardware-check which modul is loaded?

Well, I'm also using HP lappy (Compaq 6730b) with integrated webcam (using uvcvideo modul). Did you try to test it with cheese or skype, kopete, pidgin...?

No,had not tried anyhting but xcam. Just tried with kopete, working fine. Just a problem with xcam maybe?? Anyway, thanks coffeetime. I'm sure the owner will appreciate his hardware working correctly. BTW, what program would you recommend to take pix/video recordings with this webcam (I'm assuming the owner will want to)? I don't use a webcam on my system so I have no idea, thought xcam would do it, but I guess not.

+1 for wxCam
