Connecting to Network Printer
«

I'm not a newbie, but I'm not very proficient at Linux yet. My wife has a new Mac with an Epson NX510 Printer/Scanner. I have set it up to print from a network, but I'm confused as to how to make my Linux computer communicate with it to print. I'm running PCLinuxOS with kernel 2.6.28.8.tex3. I find all kinds of things in the forum about setting up a Linux computer with the NX510, but none to let a Linux machine up to communicate wirelessly with the NX510. Any help would be appreciated.

The only dumb question is the one not asked.

Hi,
I don't have an Epson but, my HP AIO is connected to the network. I chose the network option when the install app asked how the printer was connected. It then went out to the local network and found it.
Does the Epson have an install app for linux? Does it search the local network? Is the printer connected to the MAC or to the network directly? If it is connected to the MAC, perhaps the MAC needs to share it.
Just some thoughts.
Rick.

Thanks, Rick!! That's just what the problem was. All I had to do was tell the Mac to be nice and share. Thanks again!

You're welcome.
How about marking this thread as solved?
Thanks
Rick.
