Help!
Everytime  I try to log on as root - I get this nasty little compiz fusion box with a couple of radio buttons 'NO 3d'  and 'COMPIZ FUSION'   no matter what buttons or combinations I try it goes round in circles and back to the login screen without letting me into root.  I did not ask for nor do I want this feature whatever it may be, neither have I clicked on anything I was not  sure of,  I accept that at 68 years old with shaky hands I may have mis-clicked but I usually nknow when this happens and I'm darn sure 'It wasn't me guv'. Cry

MB.

Press Alt + Ctrl + Backspace and click Session button on the KDM screen. Change it to KDE or Gnome or whatever it is You're using. Log in again.

Hope this helps.

Yesterday, I tried Compiz-Fusion and boy oh boy what a mess. The whole system slowed down tremendously and in the end, after much struggling, I uninstalled in Synaptic anything and everything related to Compiz. Now back to normal, phew! It must be that my graphics card (16MB nVidia) is not up to it although I did try Compiz-Fusion on another machine with better graphics but still couldn't use any of its features. I am on KDE4.3.4 and fully updated PCLOS2010.
