When I try Configure Your Computer I get the blue splash screen  Control Center but it refuses to open the config setup.

I don't think I've done anything drastic recently - I've been tweaking the kde4.3 Desktop settigs but wouldn't imagine any of those would cause this problem?

I need to fix my display settings as they have gone "off" and afik thats the only place I can do this.

Thanks for any ideas.

No - only Minime. I assume this is a catchall forum to cover them all now.

Thanks for that command Rudge- worked fine. But I'd still like to be able to "Confiure my Computer"

What happens when you open a terminal as root and enter this "/usr/sbin/drakconf"  no quotes of course. Copy and paste the results.

That info is your ticket to an answer! Someone smarter than me will be able to help you. They were going to ask you to do that anyway. Now you are ahead of the game. I don't get these two warnings when I start mine up this way

Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "murrine", at /usr/sbin/drakconf.real line 98.
Gtk-WARNING **: Unable to locate theme engine in module_path: "murrine", at /usr/sbin/drakconf.real line 98.

So that might be a clue.

We have come far.  Wink

It seems that the smart guys doesn't come by often. Last reply 3 weeks ago.

I have had the same problem with my PCLOS Gnome edition for quite some time now. Is it worth while waiting for a fix, or should I just reinstall. And can I be sure, that it will solve the situation?

Try installing or reinstalling murrine.

Thanks Neal

I did that before but it made no difference. I still get the logo blue Control Center logo but it just sits there in the middle of the screen. The computer doesn't freeze and I can use it normally, but have to reboot to get rid of the logo.
