I've just copied a Minime livecd to disk - all went well till I had to enter the root passwords and got the message Passwords don't match. Try again

So I did - and again - and again. I even recopied the livecd only to get the same message.

I have a light touch so the keys don't repeat. My password is only 4 characters and they're all the same (yeah I know Grin) so litte chance of not getting it right.

I have two other copies of Minime and tried getting into this latest one from one of the others but didn't know where the passwords might be stored.

It's frustrating to be held up by a simple thing like this - I've done a search but it seems I'm the only one to have this problem. Any ideas please?

My only thoughts would be to type the password into the first field, and then highlight & copy it into the next field. That way, you can be 100% sure that it is the same. Other than that, I am at a loss on this.

I'm a little beyond that stage now rudge. The Passwrds don't match. Try again message came when I was still copying the livecd.

I now get the splash screen with the login stuff at the bottom where I have to enter name and password so I can't copy and paste, and I get the message Login incorrect.

Normally I use the passwordless login but can't configure that till I get into Minime

Found the answer after a couple more installations - a bit stupid of me actually.

The dialogue box was rather small and the 2nd login name password box only appeared when the Enter key was pressed.

The trouble was I was using the Tab key and that didn't trigger the scroll down mechanism.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes I should have realised I was missing something when I only saw one box for the name password instead of two.

Ah well - we live and learn.

Thanks for your help rudge and sorry to have wasted your time
