Thanks OP,

I just discovered that I actually installed the 2009.2 .
Since I have no problem on My computer, I keep it as is.

Thanks for the info

If it's working with your hardware, that is a totally acceptable decision. Don't fix what isn't broken. Grin

Most of the problems that occur with any new releases are usually hardware specific. If you don't have the hardware that is having problems, there's no reason to not use the release. My problem is that the 2009.2 release was pulled so shortly after release I didn't have a chance to determine what specific hardware was causing the problem. Now, with the 2010 release in sight, it seems like a waste of time to do any forensics on an already pulled release. Like you, I may not have any of the hardware that was causing the problem, so wouldn't learn much anyway.

For all I know, the 2009.2 MiniMe may work fine on 85-90% of the machines it might be run on. It might work on even more. The problem is that I can't specifically say, "If you have hardware xyz you will have a problem," because I don't know what xyz is. The best I can do is warn that there were problems reported, and they were sufficient enough to have the .iso removed from the official repositories.

If someone still wants to try installing from this .iso, I would say, expect problems, and be happy if you don't get any. Cheesy

I'm not using 2009.2 MiniMe, was 2009.1 but have moved on, on another tangent.
Wondering if the Repos are frozen still for all PCLinuxOS versions ?
Thanks  Grin

Yes they are, and will remain so. All work is presently being done on the dedicated 2010 repository that supports the new release, currently in beta. For most, it is already as stable as most final releases. Individual bugs are being addressed as they appear. When all things are working properly for all testing hardware, the final release will be issued. There may or may not be another beta, or release candidates, depending on the need for such.

The problem with MiniMe-2009.2 was with SATA drives. Specifically, SATA CD/DVD drives could not boot the liveCD. For this same reason, there was no 2009.3.
