I'd like to try out 2009.2 KDE MiniME.  When I click on "Get PCLinuxOS" -> "Get KDE MiniMe", I'm told it's "Currently Not Available".
All the other variants (like KDE Desktop, Gnome Desktop, Gnome ZenMini Desktop, etc) are available to "download now".
Does anyone know the status of 2009.2 KDE MiniMe?

Yeah, it's not currently available and probably won't be in the future.  MiniMe 2009.1 is available.

See http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,67109.0.html

You can find Minime 2009.1 at http://archives.pclosusers.com/isos

If you are planning on staying with the KDE3 desktop than you will want to add the following line to your /etc/apt/sources.list and make sure it is the only one selected in synaptic.

rpm http://kde3.pclosusers.com/pclosfiles/ pclinuxos/2007 main extra nonfree kde

Not seeing MiniMe 2009.1 as of today.
Umm, is it called pclinuxos-minime-kde3-2009.1.iso? If so, is there an md5sum available?

Yes there is. I don't know what happened to it on that server, but a copy is attached below. You can rename it to remove the .txt extension if you wish. The .txt extension is necessary to be able to attach it, in this forum.

There was, which is why it was removed from the official repos. This is not an officially sanctioned site.

Ah, OK.  Then this is 'use at your own risk'.  Good to know, thanks.

What was the problem please.?
I just installed minime on a spare partition, but I don't know if it's 2009.1 or 2009.2 , as I was stupid enough not to write it down on the CD.
( it's the one with the light-blue desktop background and Pics in the middle of the screen)

I also was not aware 2009.2 was defect and was taken of for that reason, otherwise I wouldn't have posted the link

Thanks

Sorry Xena, I'm not exactly sure. It was released, a number of people reported booting problems with it, and it was pulled for a remake. Just about that time it was decided to go with a "fresh install" version of the 2010 release, rather than roll into it, as there were many new features wanted that would delay the 2010 release for many months if done in the rolling mode.

That being the case, MiniMe, as well as all the rest of the alternate desktop special releases, was put on hold until the 2010 final is released. That way all the alternate desktop special releases will be in sync with the official release and can use the same new repositories.

Thanks OP,

I just discovered that I actually installed the 2009.2 .
Since I have no problem on My computer, I keep it as is.

Thanks for the info
