Smb4k vs. lin neighborhood

Have problems browsing my network (Vista, two XP machines, PCLinuxOS) with Smb4K, but not LinNeighborhood. On Smb4K, nothing shows in the browser, but if I use the search dialog to find the workgroup, it will then show up in the browser, but with only some of the machines listed - and which ones vary. Sometimes an icon will flash when I first go into the browser and then disappear. I can mount shares on any of the machines manually in Smb4K. On LinNeighborhood, the entire network shows up. Any thoughts on how to track down the problem with Smb4K?

are all your machines under the same workgroup? windows defaults its work groups to "MSHOME" while pclinuxos defaults to "MDKGROUP"

Yes, they're all under a workgroup called "home".
