Firstly can I just wish everyone associated with this brilliant site, both admin and users all, A Very Happy 2010!!

Over the past few months I have been buying some bits and pieces to build me a nice shiny new computer. A decent quality Gigabyte board, 4ghz of OCZ Reaper memory and finally a top of the range 965 Phenom 11 cpu. During the Christmas Hols I slowly put it together and got it fired up.
I buy Linux Format magazine which comes with a free dvd, usually with a few distros on. I have quite a few of these dvd's, plus all the iso's I've downloaded over the past nine months since converting to Linux. I didn't want to mess with my main pc as that has a nice PCLOS setup on it so decided to strip my backup pc which had a copy of Mandriva on it and was a rather sluggish Athlon 1500 given to me by my eldest son.
I always fancied Linux Mint so installed it and fired it up. Mmm, not quite what I expected although visually very good. Next came Kubuntu, sorry not for me. Open Solaris next, I just loved the look and feel of it, I thought the desktop was gorgeous. Err where was my cdrom? Try as I might I couldn't find it! Goodbye! Open Suse next, now, maybe this is the one, err no! I tried and tried different distros and was somehow disappointed with them all. So now, you've guessed it, I have two Linux boxes running PCLinuxOS!

Nuff Said?
