A vulnerability has been identified in OpenSSL, which could be exploited by attackers to manipulate certain data and information. This issue is caused by an error in the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol implementation when handling the session-renegotiation process, which could allow attackers to inject arbitrary plaintext into the beginning of the application protocol stream via man-in-the-middle attacks. openssl-0.9.8l addresses this issue and will be part of your normal Synaptic Package Manager updates.
