Hi,
One more PCLXDE fr has appeared at the same hosting, without any Edu software, just the minimum applications in the usual main categories. It has openbox-menu in it, (
Dynamic Menus under Openbox) running with a minimal menu.xml (.config/openbox/menu.xml) so that you can either use the classic menu or the right-clic menu in the desktop to reach application launchers.
The menu layout is the one provided by PCLOS Lxde originally. (Hi Texstar, I had to come back to it, some applications not showing, just as you said... ).

I have installed this version in 3 machines, among which one for some friends of us, one old PIII, to see if it was doing better than Xubuntu 9.10 (and it does !) and on my laptop T30 : all 3 run fine in each machine.
The Lxde versions, as for the Gnome version don't want to switch automatically to english at login, even if I keep the en languages in it, as I did for the Xfce and Kde versions (both actual Xfce and Kde "Old World" issued from PCLinuxOS 2009.2 for the time being). I saw in the PCLxde original version traces of former Zen mini... this might explain that (but not why the Gnome versions language switcher don't work !)
To end with, all the "fr Old World" versions are up to date to the day date shown in the title : latest, November 6th 2009 for Lxde fr, and eldest are of October, the 8th for the Kde version, and 15th for the Gnome version.
They have all been tested by a few persons, and the people who would like to have less updates to do, or thoses who are curious could give them a try.
I just finished preparing a new uptodate Xfce version, and failed with a Gnome yesterday (a few leftover files go get rid of, nothing too bad, but I will have to do it again). They will probably both be on my tyruiop.org space too, by the end of the coming week...
