My main desktop is an Athlon XP 2800, and I've been running PCLOS with KDE for quite some time now.  I tend to have many windows open, when I work.  Especially browser windows.  After seeing that you guys added LXDE to the repo, I decided to give it a try, and I love it.  It's way more responsive than KDE on my crappy hardware.  Very zippy.  Kudos to the PCLOS team for adding it to the repo.  Please keep up with any updates.

Great job guys,

Neal and I thank you for the kind words. Say, do you know of a standalone app that would let you change the size of the fonts in LXDE?

I didn't try LXDE yet, but I think, that obconf should be able to change the size of the fonts in LXDE too!?

... sorry for my post, there is an option in the settings of LXDE to change the fonts, I tried the ISO and experienced it ... it is the same option as in obconf ...

I tried it on my netbook. The only thing missing is an improved lxlauncher with a switcher tab that can go between the desktop and easy mode. It boots and runs fast and is amazingly light on resources. Great job Tex and the Ripper Gang. Keep up the good work!

Tried it on my eeepc 900 and it's amazingly fast. Just wonderful! But it's draining my battery, since I can't control cpu scaling. I don't want to install kpowersave, because lots of KDE stuff will be installed. If I enable cpufreq daemon, it scales it to 113MHz. Undecided
Other than that, LXDE is really good stuff.

Thanks guys

I'm gonna try it on my longtime Win2k box (Athlon XP2400+ 1 gb ram).  LiveCD works great, very smooth & fast, altho having a little problem with wireless using a Zonet ZEW2500 usb adapter.  I'm sure I'll get it worked out.  Looking forward to running PCLOS LXDE full time soon!  Grin

Even if you build a complete desktop, its still quite fast. The new LXDM was not included in the current PCLOS LXDE build but may be added to the repos in the future.
