I remember there was a "how to" or script somewhere on the forum, which explained how to get rid of that "white screen" when splash screen starts (I think Gettinther posted it).
Does anyone know where to get it?

After intense Googling, Is this it?  http://gettinther.googlepages.com/settingupdrivers

I seem to recall the '40compositing-wm' name. I think it was this I followed back on 2007. Dunno about 2009.1 or later.

I guess its advisable to backup all/any just in case.

Hope it helps and is OK on the later versions.
