Think of a tiny silly saying..Linux, PCLOS or computer inspired. It must be short enough for me to get it on a little valentine heart. You can post your suggestions here.

And as an extra incentive...............I'll even let you choose the color of the little heart that your saying goes on.  Kiss

PCLOS fav OS  Roll Eyes

Hi athaki and welcome to the forum.

PCLOS fav OS is a great saying for a little heart. I would have liked to use it. Unfortunately the February issue of The New PCLOS Magazine with all the hearts is already out.  I hope you have a copy.  Wink

I will soon be asking forum members to contribute something for the March issue and hope you will help.  Grin

The March Forum Foibles will feature some limericks. I invite members of the forum to contribute to the fun.

Here is a bit of limerick history gathered from different sources. I don't know how accurate, but it will do for our purpose.

Quote
The word derives from the Irish town of Limerick. Apparently a pub song or tavern chorus based on the refrain "Will you come up to Limerick?" where, of course, such bawdy songs or 'Limericks' were sung.

Limericks consist of five lines.
Lines 1, 2, and 5 of Limericks have seven to ten syllables and rhyme with one another.
Lines 3 and 4 of Limericks have five to seven syllables and also rhyme with each other.
Limericks are meant to be funny. They often contain hyperbole, onomatopoeia, idioms, puns, and other figurative devices. The last line of a good limerick contains the PUNCH LINE or "heart of the joke."
The rhythm is just as important in a limerick as the rhyme. Reading aloud helps get the rhythm.

Don't be scared off by the details. No one will be counting your syllables, checking your rhythm or your punch lines. We are just looking for some fun.

What should your limerick be about?  Well, about anything....but not too bawdy.  It has to pass inspection from the Editor-in-Chief. He's a bit prudish you know.  Grin  Forum members, forum procedures, computer stuff in general might be a good place to begin.  Of course the easiest one to write would be about yourself. (Best to do it before somebody else does it for you.  Wink)

I will be posting a few of my entries during the next few weeks to get us started.

Ms_meme really likes to tease
She does it in different degrees
When commanded to quit
The more she'd commit
And said I'll do as I please

You may post your limerick here or send it to me by PM.

I guess I have to contribute to this ...... I must admit that 'suitable' Limericks are difficult to find .........

There once was a man from Great Britain
Who interrupted two girls at their knittin'.
  Said he with a sigh,
  "That park bench, well I
Just painted it right where you're sittin'."

A flea and a fly in a flue
Were imprisoned, so what could they do?
Said the fly, "let us flee!"
"Let us fly!" said the flea.
So they flew through a flaw in the flue.

 An epicure dining at Crewe
Found a very large bug in his stew.
  Said the waiter, "Don't shout
  And wave it about,
Or the rest will be wanting one too."

I should have predicted this response.  Angry  Grin  And I should have also predicted the responder.  Grin

Did I fail to mention in the directions somewhere that the limericks were to be original?  Roll Eyes

Ms_meme will now pick a bone
Your limericks must be your own
Don't copy and paste
And my time a waste
We won't accept any clone

Now where is that ignore button?  Wink
