The project is on one of its turning point in life. It bask in glory, hit some snags, had been ripped and taped, hanged as display in walls ...

Well, it's time for it to meditate and reflect on its accomplishments and failures. We had volunteers who came and went, and there are those who are still with the project.

We would like to invite you to participate. In whatever way you think you can, let us know. Because the magazine needs you.

It is a good chance to give something back to PCLinuxOS. It is an opportunity to hone in your skills.

Be part of it. Send me a personal message.

ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME

I really am important that's how it's gonna be
Everything I do I do just for me

I wanna paint a picture and color it on my own
I really need no help I can do it all alone

I wanna write a story and tell it in my way
I'm not gonna let anyone else have their little say

You can help if you want but first you better see
Do it my way 'cause my name's ms_meme

I think I got over all that in kindergarten.   Grin

I remember reading somewhere how many times the magazine site is accessed.  It was a big number and I was impressed. I am sure I did more than my part to make the number grow.

This isn't about me.
It isn't about you.
It's about us.
And it's about them....all the readers who probably never come to the forum but enjoy reading the magazine.

I support the magazine.

I agree with meme, get all the editions listed back on the forum so that the new and maybe future users can read and learn about the great OS they are going to use. Let them see the magazine that the users of the OS help produce and someday they may be placing an article of their own in it.

I'm willing to help. I'm a decent writer and good proofreader (well, I'd like to think so anyway  Tongue). Just let me know what needs doing.

One caveat: I don't want to make an overly firm commitment here, because I'll be starting law school in the fall. And from what I hear of the first year, sleeping (let alone working on a magazine) will be a luxury. Though I suppose that having more to do might help me with time management.  Smiley

I am always willing to help.  For the mean time I have an unofficial mirror of the magazine. I have all the issues in pdf format going back to the start.  You can find it here http://pclinuxosmag.linuxforall.com/

Thank you, good people,  for voicing out your support. There's still a lot of Linux stuff out there that users of PCLinuxOS can also benefit from. The magazine will never run out of materials to publish.

From the things we've learned, the magazine will stand up again ... it will once again stand out ... and it will be better!

As mentioned several times now, I'm back and should be more reliable than the last 12 - 16 months... (finally)

Well I have sent in several articlles for the magazine and was in the process of writing a series of articles
which deal with various computer languages.

However, when my wife was diagnosed with lung cancer, I told Bhistory@gmail.com ( Guess this is Doug as the editor I originally delt with was papawoob) that I did not feel like writing any more.  Also I was disappointed that the new editor misplaced my second article on APL which showed how to install the commercial version.  I think that I lost that article when I wiped out my PCLinux 2007 and replaced it with 2009-1.

I am doing recearch on C++ as the third language and should be ready to send in an article on this soon.  However, is the magazine going to be published more than quarterly or only once in a long while?  When I was the Associate Editor of the SuperPET Gazette the editor once in a whicle sent me a gift.  And I routinely recieved mail from my readers.

I have not recieved any replies to leran if nay one actually appreciated any of my articles.

Regards,

Gary

eronstuc:

If they were published, I can tell you for a fact, that I read and appreciated everything I ever read in there.  I expect computer languages is not something everyone is into, but I am, and scripting languages too.  I will look back over past issues.  If I can find one, I would be more than willing to give you feedback on my opinion of your article, whether I understand the content, or not.

eronstuc,

It's not customary to post your email address in your posts. Doing so risks your email address being picked up by spambots.

I now return you to regularly scheduled programming ...  Grin

hi all,

hope Andi_diver is still with us so we will continue as before translating any new edition into German. And I promise to write a summary about the reasons and features from the very beginning to the latest version of addlocale, just need to find some time for this in the next 1-2 months  Roll Eyes

best,
