Hi, John here.
Long sufferers may recall attempts to convert a particularly grumpy Dell desktop of sub-minimal spec's to LXDE, and how Hootiegibbon swung by with his .iso and unstinting support, not letting up until he/we succeeded.
Fast forward several months: A Canon Pixma printer on its way to the scrapyard finds a new home alongside the Dell. A big one, rendolent with all sorts of bells and whistles. Trouble? None at all! Installed with CUPS, everything works. And it scans.
So the junkyard dog Dell has become a file server with a sensible-sized usb HDD and now a LAN printer server. Just like on the can, PCLINUXOS does what it says at my place, with invaluable assistance from Hootie.
Thank you Tex, thank you brothers and sisters, and thank you especially Jase. I'm lovin' it!
