Abandoned by British justice: Student faces 10 years in U.S. jail for setting up 'illegal' website (in a chilling echo of Gary McKinnon)
A British student faces up to a decade in a U.S. prison for actions which are not even a crime in the UK.
Campaigners say Richard O’Dwyer, 23, is being abandoned by his country in the same way as computer hacker Gary McKinnon.
Mr O’Dwyer is accused of listing places where films and TV programmes could be illegally downloaded, on a website he ran from his university bedroom in Sheffield. More?

This is definitely crazy. Justice is meant to protect people in the first place, not to help the content industry to protect their profits. This popped up in my mind today: "Most of the illegally downloaded content would have never been sold legally. If people download content illegally they will spend their money elsewhere, which will help the economy more than buying digital content. That should help the governments earn money as they will receive VAT for the goods purchased instead of the digital content." Just some thoughts, not even my definite opinion. You know what? The content industry can kma.. I don't watch movies, nor do I hear any music other than on radio or what I bought on a CD. Have to agree with Bill Gates on his statement on DRM some years ago: "Buy a CD and rip it." You own it if you can touch it

Why would a country like the UK allow one of it's citizens to be removed from his home country (the UK) to another country (USA) if that citizen broke no law? I'm sure am confused by that action alone.

What Mr. Bumble actually said was "the law is a ass", but that appears to remain true even if you correct the grammar.

Plain shameful. No country should ever abandon their citizens. Correct them if they go wrong but never abandon them. Citizens IS the country after all. Self destruction at work.

Many of us in the UK see ourselves as the 51st State of the USA according to the way we are treated here. The US of A rules seem to take priority over those of our country....

How can I put it?
John Bull and Uncle Sam are inseparable, the best of chums. This is simply the next logical and natural step in their relationship.
