I did that exact chain attachment to a stapler on my desk which had a habit of frequently wandering off on it's own.  Now that the kids have moved out I have removed the chain......and the damn thing started wandering off again.....but not as often.  And I don't think "she" will be moving out soon.  The small sacrifices we make.....    Grin
