Hello, I have discovered the letter required in the letter recognition application does not sound.It renders the application unusable.I have the locale set and get sound in other sections of Gcompris.Has anyone else encountered this problem in the reading lower case letter program and is there a fix? Hi, I would also help to know in what precise application : gcompris has about 100 activities, so maybe a screenshot of the one menu entry (the drawing on which you click to start it). I'll follow this thread, incase I can help. |

Hello, Here are the screen shots of the application.  I hope the screen shots are helpful.(I don't appear to be able to attach images)  The letter is not spoken at all and clicking on the mouth does not let you listen to the letter again. Hello, What happened to being able to post attachments?That is probably what I was intending to do.Did that not used to be available in additional options.?I am grateful to be saved from self inflicted grief.Anyway as I said, it works then it doesn't, then it does.There seems to be no common factor.I will try and provide images. trustytrev. |

Hi, It used to but it is not any more. Theses attachments can take lot's of space in a database and use lot's of time of the benevolent people helping to keep the forum working and running well, and were using some of their time deleting them. For pictures there are plenty places where it is easy to upload to, be it pictures or documents. We even have clients for the destkop in Synaptic, such as dropbox, minus.com ... : minus-desktop-tool : Easily transfer files to your Minus account.

files into the taskbar and instantly upload onto Minus cloud. dropbox: Sync your files online and across computers

Hi, I didn't meet with this problem, except at one moment, just after I changed the settings in gmixer. Then I launched volumeicon, restarted gcompris : from the console. Then tried the game again. Got "great ! super ! continue this way ! try again !?" (in French : "Génial ! super ! continue comme ça !! Essaye encore !"). Went fast from level 1 to level 8, trying just one or two letters (I think I know them now  ) and did the level 8, 9, 10, didn't meet a problem then. I even changed the level of the volume while using the game, which continued producing words and sounds. So start it from console and if you meet again with this no sound issue, please look into the console to see if some error messages occur. |
