It's so boring here. I installed a couple of years back, upgraded regularly, and almost never does anything go wrong! About the only excitement was the rpm upgrade that I failed to notice because I didn't look at forums very often.

I love the fact that all the popular desktop managers are covered.

"and almost never does anything go wrong!"

that means that you are not hitting it hard enough

keep trying, maybe in 2 or 3 years you could need to reinstall something   Grin

That just about sums it up. I've been wondering how much time I would have wasted in the year or so since I installed PCLinuxOS, by running scans and updates and reboots on that other os.  Grin Grin

No reinstalls, no searching for application updates and running them one by one, no perpetual virus and malware scanning, no annual "pay-me-if-you-want-your-os-updated", full and complete tweakability of the desktop with countless choices between DEs, free AND good software, and much much more. And all this paired with rock- solid stability.

All for the price of reading the forum and having fun plus an annual donation that really comes from the heart!

I love this place and OS Smiley Smiley

It's a funny way to put it, but I get what collins601 means. There's about three things that go wrong, about once a year, and I'm ready for them now, so ... yeah, can actually look at the internet a bit  Cheesy
Only just got the 'sand gets in your underwear..' comment, hehe, good one.

Just today installed 2012 LXDE on a P4 Comp that was lying around to spice things up a bit. If it says, 'Advanced', I retreat, always leads to trouble. Wink

That Advanced thingy?  Go ahead!  As easy as PCLinuxOS is to install, if you muck it up that badly, just boot the live CD, back yer stuff up to an external drive, and reload!  (Last time the wife crashed her machine hard, I had it back up and running in less than half an hour because we already had a backup!  Let's see ya do that in Windows for free!)

Later On,

Yes, Using PCLiinuxOS I was able to take the time to actually learn more about my applications.  Imagine that, utilizing your time for the applications rather than "fixing" things, LOL Cheesy

It is such a joy to not spend hours updating, scanning, being a 'Super' Power-User in Win to just get by. Helping others.

However, as much as my PCLinuxOS experience is wonderful, I can't get my head around being someone who has to ask for help if I stuff up. But that's just me (Ego), it will happen, gaining confidence, venturing into the Advanced areas.
I don't find it fun at all  Wink
I'm a little spoilt with all the extra time using my Computer for fun rather than an excercise in plugging holes, as people do in MS OS's.

Being technically trained in the fowl Art of Windows, Linux seems too good to be true.
Having the Live CD is awesome in so many ways.
My to do list for PCLinuxOS is very large, but Rome wasn't built in a day, as they say ...
